The app is deliberate but way too limited
I bought one of these a few months ago and have been using it to a soothe level of satisfaction. I have tried it with iPhone, iPod touch, and my wife's iPad. Due to the unspeakable battery life of the iPhone and iPod touch, I primarily use it with the iPad. I use it with two probes to check out the temperature of a chosen cut of meat and the internal temperature of my Primo XL smoker.This product has so much what it takes but I'm only giving it 3 stars. Why? Well, for one thing, the build quality is a little bit suspect. I have a white section, and the plastic housing doesn't feel very tough or rugged at all. I wouldn't want to see the piece take a fall onto a hard floor - the plastic has a flimsy, almost brittle feel to it. While I would like it to be more churlish, it's not my primary concern. Does truly what you expect, very nicely.
I've old various grill thermometers over the years, for the past few years I've been using the Weber wireless segment. I was never satisfied with that, it seemed like it was always losing its signal at an inopportune moment (and I LOVE most Weber products).When I saw the iGrill become accessible, I figured it was worth a shot. The $100 price tag concerned me a bit, but this is a case of "ya get what ya pay for". I've only hand-me-down this thing in the heat of battle a couple of times, but it worked flawlessly. The software is a bit clunky, which I guess will improve over time (I'd give it 5 stars but for that), but all in all, I think this thing is well worth the money. And it definitely has a coolness aspect that no other grill thermometer can hope to emulate. Well done! (pun intended).

UPDATE: Fair good phone, low price.
I recently upgraded my phone with Verizon, and unequivocal upon joining the smart phone horde. After reviewing the HTC Lucid, I opted to gamble on the untested Pantech Marauder. Boy, did I win! This phone is catchy awesome - its fast, and has all the bells and whistles that are expected of smart phones today. This is the supreme phone for anyone venturing into the smart phone arena for the first time. My wife is a perfect warning - we opted to use the Marauder's "Starter mode" which is a simplified interface relying heavily upon larger widgets and fewer screens. All of the apps are there, and very likely accessed via the "apps" button on the bottom right of the touch screen. The learning curve on the Marauder is nominal, and we switched her to the full mode within a few days.Verizon's 4G network is screaming fast, and we've setup our phones for both calling and home wi-fi to minimize our data charges. My architect was an electrical engineer but any cell phone beyond a basic flip-phone and all computers frazzled him to no end. There are very only a couple good things about this phone, but the bad things extremely outweigh them in every way.One of the most important things is that this phone only just has any internal space and even if you put in a micro-sd card, there is no way to move apps to it from your phone. That is a HUGE problem. You can only fit any apps on the phone because of this and the bloatware you get forced on your phone as usual. Apps are ALWAYS running, good-looking much most of them!The camera has NO flash...which is weird and very disappointing. The 5mp camera is okay I suppose, but without the flash, you can't in point of fact expect to take any good pictures without great lighting.There are NO cases out there to get for the phone, which sucks for populace who want the extra protection.It has ICS on it, but with the limitations it has, there's really no point.The phone is okay for anyone who doesn't dislike limited amount of space and doesn't need to download more than maybe...

Surely unbelievable - and dropped a star a year later
Wow. By a hair's breadth wow.I got this to replace a thermostat I really loved, a nice honeywell touchscreen. But I'm a techie, and the suggestion of doing things via computer, iphone, and ipad was too much.Got it at my local brick and mortar, and less than 15 minutes from vacancy the box until the old one was out, this was in, ipad and iphone had app and were communicating, and I had set up multiple programs via my computer on the website and uploaded.It has the normal R, W, Y, G wires, but also wishes the 24v C wire for power. Most thermostats don't have that one, so check your wires coming up to it. I was fortunate, my home draftsman in 2005 ran a bundle, so I had several unused ones. Just picked one at the furnace, wired it into the C terminal on the board, and had it up top here for the thermostat.Trap is very easy, and they give you the link to go online for a nice color webpage for how to get your iphone or computer connected to this. I solely bought this thermostat from Home Depot for $99 and so far I am extremely impressed!! I was ready to devote over $400 on a different IP thermostat, power supply, and sensors, but this one does exactly what I penury for a fraction of the price.You can set this up to use Radio Thermostat's "Cloud Server" if you want simple direct from a computer/smartphone inside or outside of your home and don't want to mess around with writing code.
